Join my client's friendly team and become an integral part of a highly regarded trade distributor in their field, supporting and building relationships with customers. 80% of the role will be reacting to phone calls and emails and some pro-active work chasing quotes.

Basic Salary: c25K plus bonus

Hours: 8.30am - 5.00pm Monday Friday

Location: Office based, Leighton Buzzard

About the Role

As a customer service / internal salesperson, you will contribute towards the daily drive to achieve the company's sales targets and objectives. This is a busy office-based role in which you will be required to converse with customers via telephone and email daily, supporting and reacting to their requirements, following up quotes, sales leads and opportunities. From time to time, you will also be asked to take part in office based proactive sales campaigns. The Responsibilities include:

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Respond to and support customer requirements via phone and email
  • Proactively follow up sales opportunities and leads via phone and email
  • Respond to new sales enquiries, customers and referrals from suppliers
  • Maintain a friendly and helpful service to our trade customers
  • Build relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Add value to our service where possible
  • Increase sales revenue where possible by up-selling as appropriate
  • Manage your own time and balancing your workload
  • Maintain our sales contact database within scope of role
  • Support customer after-sales enquiries in liaison with customer service department
  • Focus on both individual and company sales targets
  • Work as part of a team to ensure the highest possible levels of customer service
  • Visit customer and suppliers as necessary from time to time
  • Attend on and off-site training from time to time to support and develop role

About you

As the customer service / internal salesperson you will have the following skills:

  • A good basic level of education (i.e. schooling / further education)
  • Good communication skills both orally & written (emails etc.)
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Computer skills:

o Competent in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

o CRM System (Microsoft 365 Business Central / NAV Dynamics useful but not essential)

  • Self-disciplined, organised and ability to work on own initiative and with attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with desire and ability to achieve own and agreed goals
  • Ability and trustworthiness to work alone with minimal supervision
  • Great attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date information
