Search Consultancy are working in partnership with a successful principal contractor who are seeking a Design Manager to join their Head Office Team and play an integral part in both the tender and delivery process of Design & Build opportunities in the Northeast Region.
This company is well-established, successful and has a great reputation within the construction industry; with a vast number of opportunities upcoming in the Northeast region, they are looking for an experienced Design Manager to join them on a permanent basis.
The Role
The role will see the successful candidate take on a critical role in the business as Design Lead, responsible for all aspects of the design on projects that are at the tender stage and throughout the full lifecycle of projects once they start on site.
Working alongside the Operational and Commercial teams your role will involve;
- Assessing various factors to mitigate risk
- Ensure projects can be completed within the constraints of time, budget & quality
- All aspects of administration and compliance relating to the design
- Lead on all design and architectural aspects of the project;
o assessing physical characteristics
o evaluating proposed designs
o ensuring regulatory compliance
o supporting with cost estimates
o evaluation of return in investment to ensure project viability
What we are looking for;
- You will currently be working as a Design Manager or be a Design Coordinator on the cusp of taking that next step.
- Your experience will be with the Principal Contractor, working on Design & Build Projects.
- You will hold a HND / Degree in Architecture / Construction Management / Building Studies and may be a member of CIOB or RIBA.
- You will be a consultative and persuasive person with excellent communication skills
- Organised and meticulous when it comes to detail.
This is a permanent position with a Basic Salary between £60-65,000 plus Car Allowance.
