Role Overview
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in supporting the commercial team with cost management and contract administration across various refurbishment and fit-out projects. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in quantity surveying, working on high-profile projects across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparing cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for refurbishment and fit-out projects.
- Support the procurement process, including tendering and appointing subcontractors.
- Monitor project costs, variations, and budgets to ensure accurate cost control.
- Collaborate with project managers to provide commercial advice and ensure projects remain within budget.
- Assist in the preparation of contracts and managing subcontractor payments.
- Conduct site visits to assess progress and measure works.
- Prepare and manage final accounts.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a quantity surveying role, ideally within the refurbishment or fit-out industry.
- Knowledge of the commercial, healthcare, hospitality, leisure, or residential sectors is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Proficiency in relevant software, including Microsoft Office and quantity surveying tools.
