Title: Electrical Installation Assessor / Trainer

Location: South Yorkshire

Pay: £30,330 - £39,540 per annum

Duration: Permanent, Full-Time

Reed - Further Education are seeking an Electrical Assessor / Trainer to join an experienced Apprenticeship Engineering Team. To assess on mixed level apprenticeships.

What's the day-to-day responsibilities of an Electrical Assessor / Trainer?

  • Plan, deliver, and assess work-based learning in Electrical Installation, including functional skills where required.
  • Meet classroom & workshop teaching requirements as stipulated by the Curriculum Lead.
  • Conduct Health and Safety monitoring visits in assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Assist the Curriculum Lead in the provision of college contracts and Apprenticeship programmes.
  • Develop delivery material for learners and manage a caseload of learners in consultation with the Curriculum Lead.
  • Participate in the design and provision of employer responsive courses, including bespoke full cost training.
  • Promote learning and training opportunities within the College to students, potential students, and employers.
  • Participate in student guidance, recruitment, and initial assessment selection onto programmes of learning.

What are the required skills and qualifications needed for this role?

  • Teaching qualification i.e. AET, PTLLS, PGCE, certificate in education
  • Assessors' qualification i.e. A1, D33/D34, CAVA, TAQA, IQA
  • Level 3 or equivalent qualification in teaching subject area.
  • Experience in delivering and assessing work-based learning in Electrical Installation.
  • Ability to plan and deliver both classroom and workshop teaching.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety practices and the ability to conduct monitoring visits.
  • Experience in managing a caseload of learners and developing educational materials.
  • Level 2 or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Reed Compliance
