Band 6 paediatric dietitian

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Paediatric Dietitian to join our community healthcare team in Wembley. In this full-time role, you will provide expert dietary support to children and their families, promoting health and well-being within the community. You will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, schools, and community organizations to ensure the best outcomes for our young patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for children with various health conditions, including allergies, obesity, gastrointestinal disorders, and developmental concerns.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized dietary plans and interventions tailored to the needs of each child.
  • Provide education and support to families on healthy eating, meal planning, and managing specific dietary requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including pediatricians, nurses, and social workers, to ensure holistic care for children.
  • Monitor and track the progress of children's nutritional status and adapt care plans as necessary.
  • Deliver group education sessions and workshops for parents and caregivers on childhood nutrition and healthy eating habits.
  • Stay current with the latest research and best practices in paediatric nutrition and dietetics.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with NHS guidelines and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or Nutrition (or equivalent).
  • Registered Dietitian with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Previous experience in a paediatric dietetics role is essential; community experience is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and improvement in practice.
