Eaton Syalon, on behalf of an incredibly well established manufacturing business in North Derbyshire, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented part qualified or newly qualified Management Accountant. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role is crucial in delivering accurate and timely financial data, ensuring compliance, and supporting business growth. This role is ideally suited to a hands on Management Accountant and offers significant opportunities for personal and professional development within a great finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Produce monthly management accounts for key business units, adhering to reporting timetables.
  • Reconciliations & Compliance: Prepare and submit VAT returns for UK and ROI entities, manage Intrastat returns, excise duty compliance, and ONS surveys.
  • Journal Entries: Produce and post journals, including accruals, prepayments, accrued, and deferred income.
  • Fixed Assets & Leases: Maintain the fixed asset register and lease details.
  • Balance Sheets: Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all balances are accurate and discrepancies investigated.
  • Cost Analysis: Perform analysis for budget holders and review P&Ls for overhead costs.
  • Forecasting & Budgeting: Assist with budgeting, interim forecasting, and variance analysis for all overhead cost areas.
  • Cash Management: Ensure effective cash management, including bank payments, reconciliations, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in day-to-day accounting processes.
  • Audit Assistance: Support the year-end statutory audit process, including the annual stocktake.
  • Collaboration: Build key relationships outside the finance function and liaise with overseas subsidiaries.

We are seeking a part qualified or Qualified Management Accountant with ambition to develop. You will need to have proven experience in a busy finance team and good understanding of key accounting principles and VAT returns. Your experience to date should include budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as well as proficiency in ERP software and MS Office. Our client is seeking an individual who enjoys working closely with the business to build relationships, problem solve, provide solutions and deliver excellent information to the business. A part qualified candidate keen to complete their studies will be supported with CIMA/ACCA.
