Data Centre & Network Infrastructure Engineer- Higher Education
Dat Centre & Network Engineer with experience of working in a datacentre, communications room or similar environment with a mixed range of technologies is required to work with our prestigious Russell Group London University client.
The Data Centre & Network Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of the wired and wireless network, data centre and communication room's critical infrastructure. The post holder will also provide datacentre and network service provision and customer support.
Data Centre & Network Infrastructure Engineer- Higher Education- Essential Experience
- Familiarity and practical experience of working in a datacentre, communications room or similar environment with a mixed range of technologies.
- Experience of performing a similar role within a Higher Education or public sector environment.
- Experience of installing and supporting data networks within a large organisation located across a number of sites and supporting wired and wireless networks across multiple platforms (e.g. PC, Mac)
- Understanding of the issues involved in central management of very large numbers of systems, that are geographically distributed, and the need for strict change control Working knowledge of network technologies, hardware and infrastructure, experience in the design, deployment and support of switched networks Knowledge of network security principles.
- Experience of using an online fault logging/tracking system Knowledge of Cisco IOS.
- Experience of using a cable management system to trace infrastructure and installation details.
- Excellent problem solving skills including an ability to diagnose complex hardware and software faults.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work under pressure including multitask and prioritising critical tasks.

£40,000 to £50,000 per annum depending on experience.
