Our client is seeking an experienced Export Controller to join their team, offering a dynamic position that covers export compliance, marketing support, and security administration. This role is ideal for a skilled communicator with a passion for organisation, compliance, and business development.
Role Overview:
As the Export Controller, you will oversee the company's export license process and ensure compliance with all regulations, managing everything from Bids and Proposals to Projects and Tenders. You'll also be responsible for maintaining the marketing and communications activities, including the company website, social media, and marketing materials, ensuring they align with the brand and support the company's sales initiatives. This position requires close collaboration with teams across the organisation, including Sales & Business Development, Operations, and HR, to manage international security and compliance with UK MOD requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing & Communications
- Manage the company website, keeping content current with the latest updates.
- Oversee social media platforms with timely updates on company and sales team activities.
- Ensure company presentations, brochures, and data sheets are consistently up-to-date and available.
- Maintain demo equipment in a ready-to-use state for exhibitions, demos, and evaluations.
- Coordinate the shows & exhibitions calendar, bookings, and administrative briefs, supporting seamless event participation.
Export Control & Compliance
- Manage export licenses and ensure all processes adhere to the company's export control policy.
- Provide expert advice on Export Control Licensing, working with both internal teams and external agencies to maintain compliance.
- Collaborate with operations to provide customers with accurate lead time and production updates.
- Track new opportunities and inquiries received through the company's website and email.
Security Administration Support
- Manage the International Visitor process in line with UK MOD requirements, overseeing all International Visits Control Office (IVCO) clearances and Request for Visit (RFV) applications.
- Maintain and update records for international security visits and assist the Security Controller with security improvement projects.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Business or Marketing degree, or equivalent A-level qualifications (Diploma, NVQ).
- Experience: Prior experience in customer service or MARCOM is essential, as is experience in export control, though not essential.
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain SC-level security clearance.
Skills & Abilities:
- Communication: Excellent written and spoken English skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and data management.
- Organisational Skills: Strong attention to detail, able to manage time and prioritise tasks independently.
- Teamwork & Flexibility: Collaborative and adaptable to support other team roles when needed.
Personal Qualities & Knowledge:
- Familiarity with export license requests and management is advantageous, as is an understanding of commercial terminology and customer experience management.
- Positive, solution-focused attitude with a commitment to accountability and quality.
