Divisional Director of Nursing for Cancer

Morgan Law is currently recruiting for a Divisional Director of Nursing for Cancer for a Trust in the South East.

Reporting to the Chief of Service and working in partnership with the Divisional Director of Operations and Corporate Nursing leaders, the Divisional Director of Nursing/AHPs provides senior leadership for nurses and support staff, ensuring patients and staff are safe, cared for and listened to. The post holder will be committed to the principles of devolution of decision making to clinical teams.

You will be skilled at coaching individuals to enable them to deliver the very best clinical care and will lead the development and delivery of clinical and professional standards and the development of leadership capacity within the division.

You will be accountable for the review of the nursing and associated AHP and support workforce across the division and ensuring safe staffing levels across relevant sites and services. They will work collaboratively with other divisions to facilitate safe, high quality care provision.

The post holder will act as the divisional lead for complaints and all matters relating to patient experience. They will take the lead for Clinical Governance and Risk Management ensuring processes are in place for the monitoring, management, and analysis of incidents. They will be required to support and lead on the delivery of the wider corporate nursing and quality agenda in collaboration with DDoN colleagues and under the direction of the Chief Nurse.

The post holder will be accountable for the divisional delivery of agreed Trust level nursing objectives, targets, and quality standards. In collaboration with the Chief of Service and Divisional Director of Operations (DDO), the post holder will take the lead at divisional level for the delivery of the Patient First and True North strategies, leading on the Trust Breakthrough objectives pertinent to nursing and AHPs for their division.

The post holder will take joint responsibility with the DDO on the continual evaluation of improvement strategies implemented through agreed KPIs and data collection, reporting directly to the Chief of service on progress.
