An international services business is seeking a UK Financial Director to oversee the UK finance function. Reporting to the Head of European Control, the successful candidate will be responsible for FP&A, financial control, and accounting activities. This role requires leadership of a finance team of over 15 members and demands a candidate with a proven track record in a large international, matrix organisation.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Support the Head of European Controlling and UK COO in managing financial results, understanding margin and profitability drivers, and producing financial commentary.
  • Collaborate with Finance Managers and Business Leaders to drive objectives, address risks, and identify opportunities.
  • Initiate, manage, and implement process and system enhancements.
  • Review and recommend improvements for financial best practices.
  • Oversee financial reporting including statutory, regulatory, management, and board reports.
  • Manage the consolidated reporting timetable, ensuring all processes are documented and up to date.
  • Act as the primary audit contact.
  • Manage forecasting and business planning processes.
  • Ensure a robust control environment is in place.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Recognised Accounting Qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
  • Approximately 5-10 years of experience in a similar role (Finance Business Partner, Auditor, or Financial Controller).
  • Solid accounting and finance knowledge.
  • Experience in a large multi-national, corporate environment.
  • Strong audit experience.
  • High analytical and organisational skills.
  • Financial management expertise.
  • Strong ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
  • Proven management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Fluent in English, with fluency in a European language being beneficial.
