My client is a multi-billion dollar software consultancy firm who offers an unrivalled range of software, consultancy and managed services to SME and large enterprise clients from across the public and private sector. With their experience and understanding of big data analytics, systems integration, secure cloud and IT networks, they help clients improve operational processes, gain greater insight into their business and reduce costs.

Summary of role:

My client are recruiting for a Technical Consultant to be part of a small but driven team who support the unit and their high-profile clients. This is carried out through supporting sales, technical requirement scoping and implementation of their solution software, which is based on industry-standard components and forward-thinking technologies.
You will be expected to develop and display excellent technical and non-technical communication skills. You will be required to develop an excellent working relationship with the client and to be responsible for effective and timely communications with both external and internal stakeholders.

You will be expected to assume responsibility for the delivery of any project tasks allocated to yourself and to display the highest level of professional standards at all times. Their Technical Consultants are assigned to a number of projects at a time (internal and external), therefore excellent time management skills are a given.

Responsibilities will include:

You will be involved in all stages of installation of my clients software (training will be provided), including, but not limited to:

  • Assisting the Business Development Team with sales, pre-tender technical specifications, solution costings and other supporting material.
  • Understanding customer's requirements and designing solutions for customer's business requirements.
  • Drive scope definition, requirements analysis, functional/technical design and performance.
  • Perform design, installation, configuration, deployment, administration and maintenance of high availability solutions that implement industry standards using AWS and/or On-premise technologies.
  • Scope, write, execute and document Technical Test Plans.
  • Train and educate customer's on specific and new technical aspects of the related solutions.
  • Driving excellent customer experience and satisfaction.

Requirements:

Ability to communicate written and verbally at all levels, fluently and consistently.

Problem solving, attention to detail and efficient, accurate and conscientious record-keeping capabilities. They value individuals who are: Reliable, Flexible, Adaptable, Pro-active and Team Players.

Essential technology experience including, but not limited to:

  • Deployment and configuration of cloud applications and components
  • Networking skills (basic troubleshooting and understanding of firewalls, VPNs, subnetting & routing
  • Virtual Servers/Server Administration
  • Server Automation Tools
  • Installation and usage of performance and security monitoring tools
  • Highly available systems
  • Microsoft ecosystem (Windows Server/Client/IIS/SQL Server/RemoteApp/Active Director etc)
  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Source Control Systems (SVN/Bitbucket/GIT)

Desirable technology experience including but not limited to:

  • Compliance with Cyber Security Standards (GDS Service Standard)
  • Demonstrate experience of the full project lifecycle
