Planning and Technical Co-ordinator

Responsive Personnel are pleased to be recruiting again for one of our leading clients, who are looking for a Planning and Technical Co-ordinator to join their team in Swindon.

The Planning and Technical Co-ordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the planning and technical functions within the company. This role requires a proactive individual with strong organisational skills, technical acumen, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage planning and technical projects from inception to completion.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure project requirements are met.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications and technical documentation.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Co-ordinate design input and keep abreast of technical and necessary revisions relating to changes in building regulations.
  • Communicate with service undertakers and others in providing water, electricity and other services layouts.
  • Appoint and consultant with surveyors, architects and engineers.
  • Manage document control and issue.
  • Liaise with consultants, authorities and planning authorities, assessors to ensure compliance with current regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records and documentation.
  • Co-ordinate multiple consultants and external agencies on planning, technical and engineering design matters for existing and potential development sites.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in the construction industry.
  • Experience of working as a Technical Manager, Technical Coordinator or Senior Engineer
  • Experience managing the end-to-end lifecycle in planning, budgeting and delivering residential new homes in a technical role.
  • Knowledge of Building Regulations, detailing and construction methods.
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Experience with CAD software and other technical design tools.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RTPI, CIOB).
