Assistant Finance Manager (3-Month Contract)

We are currently in search of a detail-oriented and organised Assistant Finance Manager to join our clients dynamic team on a 3-month contract basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the purchase ledger function and ensuring the seamless execution of financial processes related to it. This position is ideal for someone who excels in maintaining accurate financial records, adeptly handling queries, and performing reconciliations.

Assistant Finance Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the purchase ledger function, ensuring all invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time.
  • Address and resolve both internal and external queries related to the purchase ledger.
  • Perform regular statement reconciliations to maintain the integrity of accounts payable records.
  • Post manual invoices for Aged Debtors and raise rebate invoices as required.
  • Review Aged Debtors monthly, reconciling accounts to the group's system.
  • Process staff expenses and produce BACS files for payment.
  • Manage credit card expense processing, including obtaining backup documentation, coding expenses, and posting to NetSuite.
  • Execute monthly processing of accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations, resolving any discrepancies.
  • Work with Operations teams on supplier refunds, ensuring they are chased, collected, and recorded correctly.
  • Calculate and post monthly provision for uncollected refunds.
  • Support all business areas, promoting good business practices.

Assistant Finance Manager Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role with similar responsibilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision in financial data entry and record-keeping.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, such as Sage.
  • Understanding of purchase ledger processes, including invoice processing and payment reconciliation.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of account reconciliation and discrepancy resolution.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective internal and external stakeholder engagement.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
