Job Overview:

Working as part of a dynamic recruitment team, with offices in Leeds and London we are looking for a part or newly qualified accountant to work as our Lead Internal Finance function that has a long-term development plan.

Your role will be varied and fast paced, working with external partners on our client invoices, payroll for both our internal team and external contractors and internal day to day queries regarding all things financial for the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completing tax returns: as a part-qualified accountant, you complete the tax returns for the company before submittal to our external accountant. You will process the taxes to be paid by the business and prepare the tax returns.
  • In the payroll department, you ensure the company complies with the statutory requirements. For instance, you prepare the statutory deductions for employees in the company in partnership with external companies we use
  • FP&A - Preparing budget forecasts: as a pre-qualified accountant. You will be responsible for analysing the records of income and expenditures and prepare a financial forecast that predicts the expenses and income for the month, presenting this to the leadership team monthly.
  • Tracking payments: you will maintain accurate records of the payments made to various internal and external stakeholders. You ensure the payments are sent and paid on time and issue invoices and reminders to stakeholders with overdue payments.
  • Managing financial transactions: You will assist the team with completing monthly, quarterly and annual financial records. You manage all accounting transactions, from receivables to payables. Using accounting software, you will feed data into our systems and present this back to the ELT regularly.
  • Assisting with ad hoc projects as required. We are a small (but growing!) business, and we are all used to working cross functionally where required! You will support various finance and accounting functions. Aside from handling monthly or yearly tax return filling and balance sheet management, you perform other administrative and bookkeeping tasks.

This is a new role to the business and we are looking for someone to take real ownership, show initiative to improve current processes and be able to step outside the traditional finance function to help support the commercial growth of the company.

Qualifications:

  • CA/ACCA and ideally years PQE
