Our client, a leading manufacturer based in East Kent, is looking for a new CNC Setter/Operator to join their expanding and successful team. As the successful candidate, you will set and operate CNC multi-tasking lathes to manufacture components from raw materials.
Key Responsibilities for the role of CNC Setter/Operator
- Setting and operating CNC multi-tasking lathes
- Inspecting work produced using measuring equipment to Engineer drawings and reporting any quality defects to supervision
- Daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checks on machines, including maintaining good housekeeping standards and reporting any issues promptly to supervision
- Optimising efficiencies through reduced set-up and cycle times, plus tool life monitoring
- Deburring, cleaning, final inspection, and completion of all traceability documentation
Person specifications for the role of CNC/Setter role
- Must be educated to GCSE or equivalent in Maths & English grade C or higher
- Practical, hands-on experience setting and operating CNC lathes, within a minimum of 4 axis
- Previous experience in cycle time reduction, tool management and optimisation
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently and with minimal supervision
- Ability to work to tight deadlines would be extremely useful
- Experience in reading Fanuc-based programs would be required for this role
- Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings is essential to the role
- Must have a good housekeeping ideology & good H&S standard
