Role - Data Management Lead / Head of BI

Location - Central London
Work Pattern - 1 day a week in the office
Salary - up to £120,000 plus benefits
Introduction
This is an incredible opportunity to join a business with a big investment and plans for their data team. We are looking forward someone to lead their Data Management and Business Intelligence function, managing and growing the current team and well as leading technically.
This role is hybrid with one day per week in the office.
The Role
This is a newly created role for the business. Their requirement for analytics from their clients has grown the point where they need to look at the volume and quality of what they can provide. The role has some clear growth and progression - roughly outlined to:
- Short Term - Get under the hood of their systems, analytics and dashboards to see what is going on currently, make improvements and solve problems. Upskill and Development the existing team of 5
- Medium Term - Look wider within the business for more opportunities for Data to have an impact, become more business facing - focussing on strategy and alignment. Grow the team from 5 to an estimated 10 heads
- Long Term - Development of Team and System to the point where AI / Data Science can be fully incorporated and add significant value. Harmonized systems and technologies globally, and standard processes.
The current Data Team is based across multiple countries.
Responsibilities.
- Lead and build an international data team - training, mentoring and upskilling as well as all usual line management
- Lead the global Data Platform, Reporting and Analytics and help incorporate Data Science.
- Provide insight and improvements on existing architecture - including data flows
- Drive data harmonization / standardization across systems
- Enhance existing data governance practices to elevate data availability, quality & security
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions
- Oversee international data projects (e.g., model development, business intelligence products and more)
- Oversee Power BI / Tableau analytics reports, data platform & tools
- Ensure the compliance with data- and AI governance frameworks
- Create innovative data solutions and products.
Requirements
Experienced leader and people manager in data management and business intelligence.
This is a role where are looking for someone to be close the technical here, to get under the hood so to speak before evolving with the role to be more business facing and involved with bigger picture strategy and more, so we are looking for some at the right level who fits this progression pathway.
Exposure to the tech stack outlined about is beneficial but we its not a pre-requisite to have seen all of it.
