A permanent Assistant Accountant with Service Charge accounts job for a property management company based in Borehamwood paying £25,000-£30,000.

You'll be working for an owner managed property management company based in Borehamwood. With almost six decades of experience in the property market in London and Hertfordshire, they've built an impressive property portfolio.

You'll be working as a Assistant Accountant/Assistant Service Charge Accountant and will be responsible for dealing with Clients and Lessees in the effective accounting of the property portfolio by proving efficient and accurate work for the administrative day to day running of each block or development. Your duties will include;

  • Responsibility for good all round management of Clients' accounts.
  • Dealing with customer queries verbally and in written form.
  • To take ownership of the implementation process of new properties taken on.
  • To undertake and review bank reconciliations within the required timeframe.
  • Issuing of monthly / quarterly income and expenditure statements to Clients.
  • Carrying out daily banking routine.
  • To programme and produce Service charge, Ground Rent, Insurance and Rent Demands.
  • The preparation of Service Charge year/quarterly-end accounts within the specified timeframe and reviewing them with the Property Manager.
  • Regular liaison with the Property Manager.
  • Run reports as necessary to assist the Property Manager.
  • Meeting deadlines set by the Business, your Line Manager and Clients.
  • Monitoring your workload and creating diaries to keep on top of your workload.
  • Completion of jobs, any problems which arise (or you identify may arise) or where there is a knowledge gap.
  • Attending meetings in order to discuss workloads.
  • Raising ad-hoc problems regarding workloads and matters of a more urgent nature, as and when they occur.
  • Being a point of contact for customer queries, escalating urgent matters to Line Manager if necessary.
  • Handling queries from tenants and suppliers and all external agencies by telephone and in writing, in a professional, courteous and efficient manner.

You'll need to have experience working within the property/real estate sector ideally with experience of service charge principles and proceedures. You'll need to have excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication both written and verbal.

You'll be paid £25,000-£30,000 and work a 40 hour week in an office based role. You'll also be working for a leading, local business with an excellent office space with excellent publice transport links.
