Join our dedicated team as a Support Worker, where you will assist autistic adults in enhancing their well-being, independence, and social inclusion. This role involves supporting learners either one-on-one or in small groups, both on-site at our adult centre and in the local community. You will work through individualised curriculums to support holistic development and lifelong learning.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide tailored support to autistic adults, helping them to achieve their personal learning and development goals.
- Work closely with individuals in one-on-one sessions or facilitate small group activities, ensuring a supportive and effective learning environment.
- Implement individualised curriculums designed to enhance each learner's life skills, independence, and social interactions.
- Engage with learners both on-site at our adult centre and within the local community, promoting real-world application of skills.
- Monitor and record the progress of learners, adapting strategies as needed to meet their evolving needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in supporting individuals with autism or similar developmental disabilities.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by autistic adults and effective strategies to support their development.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage empathetically with learners.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications in health, social care, or education are preferred.
