With a mission to provide quality, safe, affordable housing that build great foundations for our customers, their Supported Housing team are critical to providing a comprehensive range of support services to customers with profound and enduring Mental Health issues. The support required will be on-going; you will be working with customers to improve their quality of life, their ability to sustain their tenancies and the achievement of independent living. Further key responsibilities are listed below:

  • Maximising the independence of people who require support and enabling real choices in how they lead their lives.
  • Providing housing related support such as supporting people to access their benefits entitlements; pay their rent and household bills; secure appropriate accommodation; access employment, volunteering and training opportunities.
  • Assisting people with shopping, supervising medication, and prompting clients to do domestic chores. Social inclusion support to build confidence in accessing the community.
  • Maintaining accurate records of support provided, maintaining risk assessment and support plans.
  • Working with partner agencies such as Peterborough City Council, NHS services and Cambridgeshire County Council.

To be successful in application for their Reserve Community Outreach Support Worker role, you will ideally have worked in a similar role supporting individuals with enduring mental health needs, although we're open to candidates wanting to start in their Care careers or interested in pursuing a new career within a Mental Health / Social Work environment. Having some knowledge and understanding of Mental Health and the issues around it would be beneficial. You'll be comfortable in challenging negative beliefs and provide positive behaviour support, and always demonstrate a supportive and caring nature. It's crucial to display good communication and listening skills, with a strong ability to provide advice to help their customers. Please note, it is an essential requirement to hold a full driver's licence as you will have access to a fleet of pool cars in order for you to carry out your role.

Their Reserve Community Outreach Support Worker position is a community-based position across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire. They are seeking applicants to help cover shifts Monday to Sunday from 8.30am to 8.30pm to support our customers.
