Financial Controller

Financial Controller based in Aylesbury paying 65-75k plus 20% Bonus plus full benefits to be shared if successful application.

Main Purpose:

A hands-on and can-do person in this role will oversee and own the finance function and FP&A to offer strategic advice to senior management ensuring all targets and budgets are met. In addition, this role will partner Heads of Departments and Managers to provide financial advice and guidance, delivering financial insight into commercial decision making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, including review and commentary on revenue, gross profit, margins, and variances.
  • Submission of monthly SAP returns to German corporate shareholder
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of annual budgets
  • Liaise with commercial team regarding proposed large equipment sales to ensure these are accounted for appropriately and in line with company policy
  • Prepare UK & Irish Payrolls for 3rd party processing including payrolled benefits and administer pension schemes, employee benefits and submit returns to HMRC including P11D and PSA
  • Maintain and review all internal controls and procedures within the business and implement improvements as appropriate
  • Investigate any unusual variances or anomalies arising from sales margin reports, especially in relation to spares sales
  • Liaise with Auditing services to ensure continued compliance and oversee interim & year end audit
  • Providing financial data & analysis to senior management and stakeholders
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with all taxation

Requirements

  • Fully qualified ACCA/ACA 5 years' experience within Finance.
  • Ideally had previous Financial Controller/Head of Finance/CFO/FD experience with a distribution / manufacturing business including exposure to stock accounting
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Navision (NAV/BC365) and JET/Power BI reporting is desirable though not essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Excel (Pivot, Vlookup)
  • Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and ownership.
  • A willingness to work flexibly, enjoying a varied workload, some extra hours may be required occasionally to meet the needs of the business.
  • A can-do hands-on approach necessitated from a SME finance function.
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
  • A driven, motivated, and resourceful nature.
  • Good time management & organisational skills
