Bristol: Financial Services Disputes & Investigations Solicitor: 0-3PQE £63-67,000 DOE.

We are currently recruiting for an Associate Solicitor position within our client's market-leading Financial Services Disputes and Investigations (FSDI) team based in Bristol. Our client's FSDI team is known for being one of the largest teams in the UK specialising in financial services litigation. With offices in Bristol, Manchester, London, Belfast, and Glasgow, our client has established themselves as a top-tier firm outside of London in this field.

The work our client's FSDI team undertakes is both diverse and of exceptional quality. They handle a wide range of contentious matters, including high-value banking litigation, professional negligence claims, investment litigation, international disputes, regulatory issues, fraud cases, trade finance, and receivership instructions. Additionally, the team specialises in managing reputation-sensitive claims and collaborating with clients on preventative measures to minimise future claims.

With a client base consisting of major clearing banks, building societies, private and wealth banks, digital banks, international banks, payment service providers, and fixed charge receivers, our client offers a dynamic and inclusive working environment. As the FSDI team continues to grow, they provide ample opportunities for professional development, business development, and career advancement.

As an Associate, you will join a supportive team dedicated to helping you develop your talents and progress your career. Our client's reputation as a go-to law firm serving the financial services sector means you will have the opportunity to work with a range of prestigious UK and international clients, such as Natwest Group, Lloyds Banking Group, and Nationwide Building Society, among others.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a diverse caseload of contentious matters for key financial services clients
  • Assisting with the supervision of junior members of the team
  • Providing strategic and commercial legal advice on various disputes and claims, working closely with senior team members
  • Participating in business development activities, fostering existing relationships and cultivating new ones
  • Assisting with the production of legal updates and know-how development

To be considered for this role, you should be a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with experience in running litigation matters under supervision and a solid understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and the litigation process. While experience in financial services disputes is preferred, our client welcomes applications from individuals with backgrounds in insurance litigation, property litigation, or commercial litigation.

In addition, our client is looking for candidates who possess the following qualities:

  • A forward-thinking mindset with excellent analytical, communication, and organisational skills
  • Self-motivation and the ability to effectively manage workloads and meet deadlines
  • A commercial mindset and a keen interest in business development
  • Enthusiasm for staying up-to-date with the latest developments in your practise area and sector focus
  • The ability to understand client needs and act in their best interests
  • Strong ambition and a collaborative mindset, supporting senior fee earners and contributing to a collaborative culture

If you are an ambitious and talented legal professional looking to take the next step in your career, our client's FSDI team offers exceptional work quality, a diverse client base, and abundant opportunities for growth. They prioritise the wellbeing and development of their employees, promoting an inclusive and diverse culture while providing comprehensive support and flexible working arrangements.
