Assistant Accountant

I am seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join a dynamic finance team. This role is ideal for someone who is nearing completion of their AAT Level 4 qualification or is willing to study for CIMA. As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Finance Business Partner and the broader finance team, ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger and manage fixed assets.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and provide analytical insights.
- Handle prepayments, accruals, and reconcile balance sheets.
- Assist with IFRS16 lease accounting and statutory reporting.
- Provide costings and support for project work as required.
- Collaborate with internal teams (finance, sales, manufacturing) and external parties (auditors, tax specialists).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- AAT Level 4 qualification or near completion, with a willingness to study for CIMA.
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., lookups, formulas, pivots).
- Experience with SAP would be beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, technical ability, and ability to work independently during busy periods.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a collaborative, team-oriented attitude.
