Assistant Management Accountant

Our client an international media company based in the heart of the London, are recruiting for a part qualified Assistant Management Accountant to join their growing finance team. As the Assistant Management Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of the monthly management accounts for reporting to the group and updating the rolling forecast and feed into the annual budgeting process through the application of Business Partnering skills

Responsibilities:

Month-end process/ year-end & variance analysis

  • Calculation of accruals & prepayments of costs and inter-company, using IFRS principles. Prepare and post journals
  • Assist in preparation of monthly Management Accounts reconciled to TB
  • Monthly variance analysis (by comparing to budget/forecast) and exception reporting
  • Sending of weekly open purchase order reports for all areas of the P&L
  • Working closely with intercompany management accountant to reduce MIB/MIBA by sending data to all OpCo's and following up with PO requests
  • Preparation of monthly SOX folder
  • Monthly & quarterly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Action any queries post month-end; i.e AP mis-posting etc.
  • Assist with the SOX and year-end audit by providing all relevant information to the auditors
  • Review and approval of employee expenses on a weekly basis
  • Reconciling credit card statements

Reporting

  • Liaise with EMEA to resolve reporting queries
  • Submit commentaries to EMEA on a monthly basis
  • Deal with EMEA's new reporting requirements
  • Prepare and submit quarterly packages
  • Prepare and submit the year-end packages

Other and periodic

  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and SOX requirements
  • Continuously reviewing current processes and making improvements to allow better control or improved efficiencies
  • New supplier form reviews
  • Ad hoc projects as directed by FC/SFC
  • Assisting AP team with coding of invoices

Ideally you will be an ambitious candidate who wants to join a fast-paced environment with proven experience of dealing with expenses and very strong excel skills.

The role is a 12 month FTC but could go permanent and is on hybrid working model (2 days work from home and 3 days a week in the Holborn based office but shortly moving to London Bridge).
