Are you a passionate and experienced Religious Education (RE) teacher looking for a new opportunity in a nurturing and supportive school environment? A secondary school in Walthamstow is dedicated to fostering a love of learning and is searching for a talented RE teacher to join the team. If you have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a proven track record of inspiring students through engaging and thought-provoking lessons, we would love to hear from you!

The school:

A mixed secondary school in Walthamstow,for pupils aged 11-16. The school is known for its welcoming atmosphere and supportive community, where every student is encouraged to reach their full potential. They pride themselves on their commitment to creating an inclusive environment that nurtures academic excellence and personal growth.

The Role:

A full time RE teacher position, to start either ASAP or in September (depending on your preference). This would be a long term position up until May 2025. The right candidate will have suitable experience teaching RE in a secondary environment. This role is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs)

We are looking for an experienced RE teacher who can:

  • Plan and Deliver Engaging Lessons: Create dynamic and stimulating lesson plans that inspire and motivate students, encouraging a deep understanding and appreciation of religious education.
  • Foster a Love of Learning: Cultivate a classroom environment that is both challenging and supportive, where students are excited to learn and explore new ideas.
  • Monitor and Assess Student Progress: Regularly evaluate student performance, providing constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their best.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive educational experience for all students.
  • Participate in School Activities: Engage in extracurricular activities and school events, contributing to the vibrant school community.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Must hold QTS and have substantial experience in teaching Religious Education at the secondary level.
  • Proven Experience: This role is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs). We are seeking someone with a strong background in delivering high-quality RE lessons.
  • Passion for Education: A genuine enthusiasm for teaching and the ability to inspire students of all abilities.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts.
  • Commitment to Professional Development: A willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to the school's continuous improvement.
