Position: School Caretaker

Location: South London

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Tempest Resourcing is excited to be recruiting on behalf of a reputable school in South London. We are seeking a dedicated and reliable School Caretaker to join their team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, security, and maintenance of the school premises, contributing to a welcoming and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs across the school premises. Report and manage major repairs and improvements.

Security: Ensure the school is secure at all times. Responsible for locking and unlocking the school, including during events outside regular school hours.

Health and Safety: Conduct regular checks and maintenance of health and safety equipment. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Cleaning Supervision: Oversee the cleaning staff and ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the school.

Grounds Maintenance: Maintain the school grounds, including gardening, litter picking, and ensuring pathways are clear and safe.

Event Support: Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for school events and activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a caretaking or maintenance role, preferably within a school setting.
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
