Development Chemist

We are seeking an experienced Development Chemist to join our client's Operations team, playing a crucial role in their production process and systems. This position involves close collaboration with the QC, R&D, and Production departments, ensuring the smooth running of the distillation room and compliance with quality control systems.
Day to Day of the role:
- Perform distillations and undertake development projects to support the scale-up of research to production scale.
- Liaise with R&D and QC to solve problems and troubleshoot.
- Support R&D in the development of processes
- Support the Director with the distillation room management.
- Undertake documentation and maintenance.
- Enter results into the ERP system and maintain the company's record database.
- Review and check technical documentation, policies, SOP's, and WI's.
- Complete relevant paperwork and build good working relationships with all stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with team members, auditors, suppliers, and clients to meet operational and R&D requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years' industry experience.
- Degree in Chemistry, preferably in Organic Chemistry, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience with distillation and small-scale fine chemical manufacture.
- Good understanding of English.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
- Awareness of the hazards associated with potentially hazardous chemicals and materials.
- Knowledge of analytical techniques and hands on experience is beneficial.
