IT Business Development Manager

**Salary:**£60,000 (DOE) plus bonus

Location: Northampton / Hybrid working

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Sales Manager to join an industry-leading MSP/VAR specialising in delivering top-tier services including Networks, Security, Cloud, and Infrastructure Consultancy to mid and large enterprise clients. With a strong focus on client retention and partnership, our client offers a supportive environment dedicated to the growth and development of its staff. As an IT Sales Manager, you will drive business growth and foster client relationships and work closely with our clients' resellers /partners to understand the market and negotiate pricing.

This position offers a hybrid and flexible work environment, with regular training and development opportunities to stay ahead in the IT business development industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Sales Objectives: Set and achieve sales targets, develop sales plans and strategies to ensure continuous growth, exceeding sales targets, and maintaining profitability.
  • Client Acquisition: Prospect and generate leads from scratch, convert leads from various marketing channels, and actively engage with C-level clients to establish and nurture relationships.
  • Sales Planning: Create short and long-term sales plans to achieve objectives, consistently meeting revenue goals aligned with organisational targets.
  • Public Presence: Represent the company at key events, actively engage on social media platforms to promote the company's offerings and produce informative content to educate potential clients.
  • Upselling and Cross-selling: Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell to existing customers, broaden the sales pipeline and obtain referrals to expand the client base.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Manage customer relationships, understand their needs and provide insights to enhance the product portfolio based on customer feedback.
  • Key Account Management: Develop and manage key accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Reporting and Operations: Oversee pre- to post-sales support activities, ensure the highest level of client satisfaction and analyse industry trends to develop effective business plans.
  • Business Growth: Develop partnerships with key stakeholders to accelerate company growth, provide corrective action suggestions if sales are below budget and oversee product pricing and positioning.
  • Performance Monitoring: Regularly monitor sales performance against targets, provide reports comparing actual sales versus budgeted sales and communicate sales activities to stakeholders on a monthly basis.
  • Negotiating: Working with resellers /partners in order to understand the market and negotiate pricing

Required skills and qualifications

  • Proven Track record in sales and client relationship management within the IT industry.
  • Strong market research and analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of budgeting processes and performance reporting.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Strategic and business planning abilities.
  • Self-starter with attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Previous experience within an IT background.
  • Familiarity with WAN & LAN, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Microsoft Office 365, server hardware technologies, PC/laptop hardware, broadband technologies and network topologies.

Desirables

  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or equivalent practical experience
  • Knowledge of system security and data protection procedures.
