Are you an experienced production leader from a food manufacturing background, ready to take the reins of a hands-on leadership role? We are seeking a Factory/Production Manager to lead a high-end smoked salmon facility based in North Lanarkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing and reputable producer supplying luxury food products to top-tier retailers and hospitality clients.

**The Role

As the Factory/Production Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the production facility. From ensuring smooth operations and top-tier product quality to leading your team and driving continuous improvement, your leadership will be pivotal in maintaining excellence and efficiency.

**Key Responsibilities

Production Management

  • Lead daily operations of the smoked salmon production facility.
  • Maintain production schedules, quality standards, and safety compliance.
  • Adopt a hands-on approach to problem-solving and operational oversight.

Quality & Compliance

  • Enforce rigorous quality control and hygiene protocols.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to implement corrective actions where needed.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and environmental regulations.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, train, and develop production teams and supervisors.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative workplace culture.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support staff growth.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement process enhancements.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and cost-saving strategies.

Cost & Performance Management

  • Monitor production costs and efficiency KPIs.
  • Prepare performance and operational reports for senior management.

**What We're Looking For

? Proven experience (5+ years) in a production management role within a food manufacturing environment
? Strong leadership and planning skills
? Hands-on and adaptable approach
? Knowledge of Lean principles and process optimisation
? Excellent communication and team development skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in fish or seafood processing
  • Flexible start times (typically from 7am), with occasional overtime
