Live in Care / Lifestyle Assistant for a first-year Psychology student

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a young lady who is attending the University of West England to study Psychology. Join her team of PAs who provide her personal care and independent living support. This is a great opportunity to make a positive impact on a young adult's life.

Start Date: ASAP

Shift Pattern: 7 days on / 7 days off

Pay: £190 per day / £1,330 per week worked

Free accommodation whilst on shift

Location: Bristol UWE (BS16)

5.6 week's holiday pro rata.

Care experience is not required as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided.

About our Client

Our client is a down-to-earth young woman who has cerebral palsy, sciatic nerve injury and impaired sight. She also suffers from epilepsy, which is well managed, as well as Hereditary spastic paraplegia, which may case muscle spasms. She doesn't let this stop her from living her best life! Her communication style is very straightforward and blunt, in the best kind of ways.

She has an amazing sense of humour and enjoys spending her free time outside playing tennis and other accessible sports. As this is her first year, she will be looking for a like-minded individual to encourage her to live the best life possible at University!

About the Job

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive difference in somebody else's life. Our client is confident in her ability and is looking for a like-minded individual to assist her with the following:

  • Assist with personal care, including dressing, showering, transferring from one room to another using equipment such as hoist
  • Support with daily living activities, housekeeping, and domestic duties
  • Help with commuting to and from university
  • Help around university
  • Engage in social activities and outings

Qualifications and Requirements:

You are unlikely to have experience in every aspect of our client's care therefore full training in his particular needs is provided. We are looking for applicants who have:

  • Great organisational skills
  • Respectful of the client's privacy and space
  • Good sense of humour
  • A mature and responsible attitude to work
  • Clear and proactive communication
