Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant - Part Time

Are you an experienced Bookkeeper or Accounts Assistant that is looking for a Part Time role in Bedford, working 24 hours per week?

The Role: Hands-on and varied bookkeeping role working closely with the Directors of the business and wider team.

More detail:

  • Process weekly and monthly payroll and expenses using Brightpay, incl auto enrolment pensions (NEST).
  • Manage annual leave requests via Brightpay software, requesting required authorisation.
  • Pay sub-contract labour on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Monthly submission to HMRC for CIS sub-contractors via Brightpay.
  • Prepare payroll year end.
  • Post sales and purchase invoices using Sage 50cloud Accounts.
  • Reconcile purchase invoices to supplier statements and prepare monthly BACS run.
  • Raise material credit requests/returns.
  • Reconcile bank statements.
  • Prepare, reconcile and submit VAT return quarterly.
  • Carry out money chasing for sales invoices and prepare debtors reports for directors.
  • Raise monthly sales reports and quarterly P&L reports for MD.
  • Work with service software for invoicing/payments (JNC Contracts and Maintenance Manager)
  • Reconcile customer receipts
  • Reconcile ledgers for year end.

The successful candidate will be typically working 3 days per week 8:30am - 4:30pm however the hours and days can be flexible.

The Person:

  • An experienced Bookkeeper or Accounts Assistant with the ability to deal with all of the above in a standalone role.
  • With excellent communication skills you will also be supporting the business and directors as needed.

The role is paying a basic salary of up to £30,000 full time equivalent, depending on experience.
