People Adviser

Posted by House Recruitment Limited.

Deep down you love the chaos that often comes with a People role.. . .

You aren't massively unhappy, but you feel you are ready for something more, though you can't quite put your finger on it.

I will be honest, this People Adviser role will be intense (but in a good way). The firm is very well established; however, they have only had a People function for a smidge over 2 years. The Head of People has achieved a lot in that time, and the powers that be now see the value in a proactive People team and the positive benefits it can have (hallelujah). I don't need to explain the benefits to you, you live and breathe them now after a few years in a People focused role.

The People team is ready to move into its next phase, and this is where you come in. A CIPD Level 5 People Adviser who relishes the operational side of the role and an all-around generalist role is at the top of your list for your next move, along with hybrid working and development, with Level 7 on the horizon.

Your cohort is made up of 90 individuals across multiple teams, all at different stages of their careers, from apprentices to Heads of Departments within a professional services environment.

The bulk of your role will be spent focusing on ER work, being the first point of contact for the business. You know what it's like when almost everyone starts their conversation with 'can I have 5 minutes' or _'can I have a quick word' a_nd you love it! The variety and not knowing what the day holds.

As well as ER work, you will have the opportunity to get involved in a range of other things, including project work focusing on HR systems, culture, employer value proposition, talent attraction, wellness projects, and chairing employee committees. You will provide advice and guidance to senior leaders on employment law, processes and suggested courses of action, balancing both employee wellbeing and business wellbeing.

You may not have built up any supervisory experience as of yet, but it's either something you are looking for or are happy to continue developing. The People team does have administrative support, and the vision is for the People Adviser to have supervisory responsibility for the admin function within the People Team, with the support of the Head of People.
