IT Support Apprentice

Overview:
Virtual DCS are now looking for an eager candidate to join them as an IT apprentice this is a remote role with 1 day a month in the office.

You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience as you complete an IT systems and networking - Azure Cloud Support Specialist - Level 3 Apprenticeship.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Responding to and managing tickets in the helpdesk -- Technologies used: Azure, Office365, VMware, Veeam, Wasabi, Object Storage & Microsoft Server
  • Provide technical assistance and project support
  • Taking ownership of tasks to ensure monitoring is working effectively
  • Ensuring that key services are available for clients
  • Responsible for ensuring that customers backup's are running as scheduled and hitting expected SLA's.
  • There is also plenty of scope to get involved with 365 deployments and to help develop and use Microsoft in-tune, helping to develop and deploy security best practices both internally and to your client base

The role is office based but staff mainly work from home. There is opportunity to travel to clients Wakefield and Derby, from time-to-time as and when the need arises.

Desirable skills:

  • The successful candidate will be working in the technical team - looking for collaborative working skills.
  • As well as technical & communication skills.

Personal qualities:

  • Confident speaker who's able to express ideas and venture an opinion in a highly supportive setting.
  • An active interest in IT beyond the scope of gaming & basic use.

Entry requirements:

  • 3 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
