Production - Manufacturing Manager

Established in 1979, our client Newton Commercial who are located near Ipswich in Suffolk, is a world leader in the manufacture of classic car interior trim. Their ethos is simple, produce quality products made by passionate people. This is a varied role sitting on the senior management team responsible for production performance, as well as delivering overall company goals.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the management team to deliver company strategic and operational goals.
  • Oversee the manufacturing and production teams, providing development opportunities and training.
  • Look for efficiencies through lean and six-sigma processes.
  • Produce and execute weekly, monthly, and annual production schedules.
  • Look into root cause to make sustainable improvements and problem solving.
  • Looks at ways to reduce expenses and increase productivity whilst maintaining quality.
  • Continuously review performance reporting and look for ways to improve efficiencies.
  • Reduce wastage, production times, and complaints.
  • Work to the highest safety and quality standards and minimise risk.
  • Continue to develop a collaborative culture through a supportive and hand-on management style.

We are looking for candidates with experience gained in a similar production / manufacturing / factory leadership role. You will have excellent communication, problem solving, and management skills with a history of developing teams. You will have a continuous improvement mindset and be able to evidence where you have improved production performance and worked to a lean culture.
