An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced & skilled Fire Door Surveyor to join a recognised and reputable organisation based in the UK. The successful candidate will provide administrative and technical support to the survey team members using previous experience/knowledge. You will operate between the management team, head of department and the survey team members to provide thorough and comprehensive PFP/fire door/damper survey reports. This role will also carry out technical PFP/fire door/damper site surveys as and when required and train and mentor trainee team members allowing for individual growth.

**Qualifications

  • You should hold relevant qualifications and training in passive fire stopping, fire safety, fire compartmentation, fire doors, fire dampers i.e. ASFP, NVQ, FDIS
  • Computer literate in software such as Microsoft Outlook Express, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word. (Fulcrum, Office 365, Bolster an advantage
  • GCSE / A Level

Knowledge

  • Ideally have a minimum of 12 months' experience in a similar role
  • Previous Passive Fire Protection experience is essential

The finer elements of the role include:

  • Ability to undertake site PFP/fire door/damper inspections at both existing buildings and construction sites with precision to ensure that all passive fire protection systems are installed in accordance with certified details and manufacturer's instructions then report accordingly
  • Undertake site inspections, surveys and building audits relating to passive fire protection such as fire stopping, cavity barriers, fire doors, fire dampers and drywalls and report accordingly
  • Take a hands-on approach to identifying defects and other non-compliances, photographing and reporting these using Bolster/Plan radar/Boris software then by using these systems turn into thorough PFP reports
  • Ensure the passive fire protection within buildings is installed in accordance with certified details, fire test reports and manufacturers requirements
  • Understand codes of practice, standards and interpreting manufacturers details relating to passive fire protection
  • Collate and communicate back via thorough reporting completed PFP surveys and clearly communicate to the head of department progress on site and any issues that may arise whilst surveying
