Senior Technical Engineer Permanent Full-Time
Salary - Circa £47,000 DOE
Location - In Office, Stevenage or London
We're supporting a creative design and build agency that specialises in brand identity through retail display and window design. They are renowned for producing visually striking and innovative in-store installations for luxury brands across high-street retailers and global companies.
Their work typically focuses on blending creativity, craftsmanship, and storytelling to enhance brand identity and engage customers through immersive visual experiences.
With ongoing success, they are now looking to expand their design team and are seeking a motivated Senior Technical Designer with relevant industry experience and strong skills in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Responsibilities, but are not limited to
- Produce 3D technical production drawings using SolidWorks of retail environments, windows, pop ups and stand design
- Work closely with Head of Manufacturing and directly with their global production teams
- Work across many different clients & environments
- Produce full SolidWorks technical drawings including BOM's
- Pulling together production packs for client sign off and to hand over to production team
- Attend project meetings for initial briefings with Project Managers & Production Managers
- Develop ownership over own projects as either a team or independently
- Assist in creating installation guidelines.
- Communicate directly with suppliers or structural engineers where necessary
Experiences required
- Competent 3D modeller using SolidWorks or similar CAD packages: Inventor, Solid Edge, Fusion 360, Creo or Onshape
- Similar industry experience in creating retail environments for brand identity: window or display stands, exhibition stands, set & stage, events, POS, film or TV sets
- Strong technical ability in creating detailed technical drawings in CAD for manufacture & assembly (DFMA)
- Background in designing for joinery, metalwork acrylic or lighting & print
- Able to use SketchUp is advantageous
- Able to use AutoCAD is advantageous
