ersonal Tax Trainee sought for the friendly team of this highly respected private client tax team in Edinburgh.
The tax team provide tax compliance and advisory services to an impressive private client portfolio including high-net-worth individuals, professional partnerships, business owners, properties, trusts and estates. As a trainee, you will support with a range of tax processing and administration tasks as you build your tax technical awareness towards managing the full tax compliance process. You will also progress towards managing your own small portfolio of clients, building strong relationships with them and ensuring their records are kept accurate and up to date.

You will be given on-the-job training and support to work towards becoming an experienced and trusted tax advisor. You will also be offered study support package towards professional tax qualifications (ATT/CTA). Previous experience in a tax role is not essential, and previous experience within professional services or customer facing roles would be advantageous.
To be considered for this role, you must be:
- A soon-to-be (or recent) University Graduate in Accountancy or similar, minimum 2:1 grade (or predicted) with strong academic history
OR
- An individual with some exposure to working in tax (e.g. HMRC, accounting firm) and interest in pursuing professional tax qualification
You will also be:
- A self-starter with strong attention to detail
- An excellent communicator (both verbal and written) with a passion for working with others and ability to work independently
- Ambitious and passionate about developing a career in tax
- An excellent problem solver who enjoys researching new concepts to broaden your technical knowledge and commercial acumen
