Axon Moore is exclusively partnering with a exciting brand owned in the UK as they seek to hire an ambitious qualified finance professional to join the business as Finance Director. This role reports into an ambitious CEO. The business is ideally looking for an experience finance professional from an FMCG background.

£80k - £100k + bonus

3 days in the office / 2 days from home

About the role

My client is looking for a high potential candidate, who is seeking an opportunity where they can prove themselves in their ‘breakthrough Finance Director' role, growing and developing their career alongside the business.

As the Finance Director you will assumes overall responsibility for the finance function, leading and developing a finance team, including management of the day to day finance function with the provision of relevant and timely financial information to all stakeholders, The initial focus of the role will be hands-on and detail-orientated, ensuring accurate financial and KPI reporting, maintaining controls and ensuring compliance as well as overseeing budgeting and forecasting, ensuring that the right infrastructure for further explosive growth is in place from a finance perspective.

Main Duties:

  • Continue to drive and develop an overall structure for the finance function, ensuring the right foundations and processes are in place for the business as it grows.
  • Provision of financial forecasts and monitoring financial performance.
  • Monthly reporting of full management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and rolling forecasts.
  • Leading the annual budgeting process.
  • Tax compliances including VAT, PAYE and corporation tax.
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders and be a main point of contact for the banks, auditors and other relevant advisors.
  • Develop productive and strong working relationships across all business functions with a healthy combination of challenge and support.
  • Act as a key member of the leadership team, driving a positive and high performance culture at all times.
  • Prepare and present all aspects of financial reporting required to the business.
  • Reviewing and improving contracts, making sure sales teams adhere to finance point of view in future contractual agreements.
  • To manage the finance team, improving performance and developing knowledge and skills of all team members.
  • Contribute to the business strategy and work closely with the CEO to execute.
  • Taking responsibility for ensuring compliance.
  • Taking responsibility for the financial management of the firm including WIP control, invoicing, debt collection.
  • Improving current processes and implementing new processes where required.
  • Taking responsibility for the supplier list and supplier relationships.

Requirements:

  • A qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA) with several years post qualification industry experience
  • Results orientated with solid analytical and decision making skills
  • Experience of online retail, FMCG and Manufacturing experience
  • Ability to coach, delegate to and develop others
  • Positive, enthusiastic, can do, will do attitude
  • Exceptional excel skills
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Evidence of strong inclusive team working approach and ability to work with non-Finance staff
  • Proactive decision maker who can positively influence change
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Good time management and multi-tasking
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take ownership and lead a team
