Job Title: Retail Assistant
Locations: Chesterfield (S44)
Hourly Pay Rate: £11.44 per hour
Hours: 20 hours per week various shift patterns include with flexibility
Contract: Temporary (initially 8 weeks with potential to extend)
Gi Group Recruitment are now seeking to appoint a Retail Assistant to our Public Sector client based in Chesterfield. The successful candidate will have experience in a retail environment and be customer focussed. They will possess strong teamwork qualities and a demonstrate a willingness to learn on the job.
Duties of the Retail Assistant
- Serving customers with a smile ensuring that they walk away happy with the service that you have provided.
- Cash handling and use of electronic card machines daily.
- Participate in on-the-job training.
- Assist in ensuring that all stored food items are used within use by/best before dates.
- Work with your team to maintain health & safety and cleanliness across the store.
- Basic preparation of food items in a food safe manner.
- To work in accordance with Food Hygiene Regulations.
Criteria
- Previous experience working in a catering or retail environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- You will often need to multitask, therefore a hard-working attitude is key here.
- Ability to work to timescales in a busy environment where you will occasionally have conflicting tasks presented.
