Deputy Home Manager

You will work 9.00 to 16.30pm,37.5 hours per week, working 7.5 hours per day, shift times can vary depending on the needs of the service at the time.

At Holkham House where you will provide support to people who may be living with severe learning disabilities, autism and behaviours that challenge .The service users may also have profound and multiple communication difficulties, sensory impairments and physical health problems.

From facilitating the development of quality healthcare services to meeting financial targets to deputising as the service lead, you will be the Home Managers right-hand person, ensuring the service runs smoothly.

With experience from within the care sector as a senior employee, you will assist with the strategic development of the care home, which will see you abide by and work towards Elysium's objectives and business plans.

What you will be doing

With experience from the care sector, you will support the Home Manager to lead the nursing team in providing high-quality care and support to people with Learning Disability and Autism setting, while also supporting your colleagues and promoting good teamwork.

As a Deputy Home Manager, you will empower recovery and deliver supervision to staff across the ward to deliver great healthcare. You will work alongside the senior Nurse and Ward Manager to co-ordinate the on-call service and manage the ward budgets, and lead by example, acting as a role model to all members of the nursing team, leading care teams and creating a positive learning environment that makes a difference and changes lives for the better. Other duties include:

  • Supporting the Registered Manager to prepare for contract reviews and represent the organisation in respect of service delivery.
  • Supporting the Registered Manager to create, maintain and enhance productive working relationships within the home.
  • Ensuring the appropriate number and skill mix of staff on duty at any given time subject to company protocol and the needs of the service users.
  • Planning, implementing and monitoring the Person Centred Approach to care within the home.

Things that you will have:

  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or willing to work towards
  • An excellent track record in a senior role within the healthcare sector.
  • An understanding of learning disabilities, epilepsy and sensory processing issues.
  • A passion for improving clinical quality and care.
  • Strong leadership skills.

Where you will be working:

Location: Princes Road, Redhill, Surrey, RH1 6JJ

Holkham House has direct train access to London and Brighton and the M25/M23 motorways are 4 miles away.

You will be working at the Holkham House, providing a specialist residential service for men and women with a range of learning disabilities, including autism and sensory and communication impairments.

Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will support individuals with a learning disability who require a high level of support to live within a community setting and will continue to require this longer term. Service users may be transitioning from children's residential services, education, or moving out of the family home.

Your aim will be to encourage individuals to lead a full and valued life, enabling them to live more independently through a programme of active community engagement, developing meaningful social networks and developing robust coping strategies.
