We are looking to recruit a Social Worker for the Children In Care Team within the Social Care Industry. Our client has a well-structured and organised team that are looking to grow their staffing levels. The role offers flexible working hours and has a supportive team culture with regular supervision on cases. Cornwall is embedding a systemic approach and is currently undergoing a number of changes focussed on reducing caseloads and improving outcomes for families.
Main duties include:
- Act as a professional representative for the service by delivering an excellent service to people who access or need the service. Act with integrity and respect, ensuring at all times the needs of the individuals are paramount.
- Work with a diverse caseload, seeking support where required to meet workload deadlines.
- Promote excellent standards of Social Work practice for children and families using skills in assessment/a range of intervention in order to impact change with the ability to explain and justify decisions.
- Assess needs, risks and options taking into account legal and County Council requirements.
- Report any allegation or suspicions of abuse or potential abuse of a vulnerable person to an immediate manager or supervisor.
- Ensure effective implementation of department policies and procedures in line with statutory responsibilities and contribute to development work as required. Job Description & Person Specification
- Build effective relationships based on clear communication and respect with children, young people and families.
- Work effectively with partner organisations using transparency and honesty to get positive outcomes for children and families.
- Manage conflicting and competing priorities while remaining resilient when working with children and families with challenging behaviour, who may place significant emotional demands on you as the post holder.
- Responsible for working flexibly out of office hours to assist customers, carers and families.
- Responsible and accountable for small expenditures.

Minimum Requirements:
- 1 year experience within UK
- Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- SWE Registered
- Degree in Social Work
