About Us:

Kent Wildlife Trust (KWT) is at the forefront of nature conservation, dedicated to protecting, restoring, and recovering natural habitats across Kent and beyond. Our Wilder Kent 2030 Strategy (WK2030) sets ambitious targets through groundbreaking projects like the Wilder Blean Initiative, Kentish Chough reintroduction, Pine Marten reintroduction, and Nature-Based Solutions. These complex projects require dynamic collaboration across our organisation, pushing the boundaries of conservation.

The Role:

We are seeking a visionary Head of Strategic Conservation Initiatives to join our Senior Leadership Team. In this crucial role, you will ensure the efficient and effective delivery of our projects using our Project Management Framework (PMF) based on the internationally renowned Conservation Open Standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

Lead the development and execution of high-impact conservation projects, from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals.

Collaboration:

Partner with the SLT and the wider Trust to coordinate resources and manage diverse, multi-disciplinary project teams.

Financial Oversight:

Oversee project budgets and finances, implementing robust risk management practices.

Process Improvement:

Continuously assess and enhance our project development and delivery processes.

Reporting:

Provide regular progress reports to the SLT, trustees, and funders, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Experience:

Proven track record in managing complex projects, programmes, and initiatives, especially in multi-disciplinary environments.

Leadership:

Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage diverse teams.

Strategic Thinking:

Strong strategic mindset with a focus on process improvement.
