Shift Operator
Salary - £49,088.56 per annum (plus benefits)
Hours - 40 hours per week

Acting under the direction of the Shift Team Leader, the Shift Operator will ensure the safe and efficient operation of all production activities associated with the Millerhill Recycling and Energy Recovery Centre (RERC) located in Edinburgh Scotland. To include a high-pressure EFW Boiler, Materials Recycling Facility (MRF), Balance of Plant, Steam Turbine and Generator. Additional duties will include supporting the site maintenance team with front-line plant fault diagnosis, maintenance and repair work.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working on a shift rota Monday to Sunday. This will be on a shift pattern of 12 hour shifts.

What will you be doing?
- Safe, clean and efficient plant operation as directed by the Shift Team Leader from the Central Control Room and/or on plant as required
- Carry out plant related routine duties and checks to ensure commercial operation, performance, availability and reliability are maintained
- Plant and control system front line fault diagnosis, reporting and rectification within personal capabilities
- Support the site maintenance team with project work, routine, non-routine and planned outage activities
- Carry out defined responsibilities for emergency incident response
- Write and review operational and safety procedures, and associated risk assessments
- Undertake personal development and training to enhance knowledge, experience and skills
What are we looking for?
- Experience in all aspects of Energy From Waste and Materials Recycling Facility plant operations
- Experience of electricity supply industry Safety Rules and Safe Systems of Work
- Experience of working in a technically challenging and dynamic environment
- ONC/City and Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in process, thermal production or operations, or agreed combination of technical qualification and experience
- Computer literate, displaying skills in numeracy and literacy
