GMS are a local Plumbing & Heating Mechanical contractor based in the Reading area.
We are looking for a Mechanical Project Manager to join our expanding team of professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Read, review and understand project specifications to ascertain the full scope of works for a project.
- Review consultants design drawings alongside the technical plant schedules to ensure the initial design meets with the full scope of works, identifying any potential discrepancies between the two.
- Review consultants design drawings/schedules to check adequate information is included to enable all plant to be procured correctly and identify any potential VE options.
- Review consultants design schematics to carry out checks such as pipework sizes, flow rates etc.
- Compile detailed RFI's with any clarifications that may be needed after reviewing design information.
- Put together plant enquiry packages including relevant parts of the specification and technical schedules to send out to suppliers to obtain quotations.
- Carry out technical & cost analysis of supplier quotations to select the correct equipment.
- Produce detailed technical submittals of selected plant to issue for approval prior to ordering equipment.
- Solidify & build relationships with Clients, Construction Managers, Subcontractors and Suppliers.
- Manage project deliveries.
- Manage project financial cost sheets, budgeting and cost control
- Managing Project Programmes
- Coordinate manpower as required with other projects in the company.
- Actively participates in meetings, initiatives, and projects that support the company goals.
- Meet technical, contractual, schedule, budgetary and client service objectives for each project.
- May periodically act as Quality Control (QC) reviewer on projects.
