Interim Financial Controller

As they navigate through a period of change, they need a highly skilled and experienced Interim Financial Controller to join the team and drive financial strategy during this critical phase.

Job Description

The role will oversea all financial aspects of the organisation and drive the company's financial strategy and planning. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and the efficient management of its financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including statutory accounts.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with the appropriate financial accounting standards and regulations.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and monitor effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow, ensuring the company has adequate liquidity to meet its obligations.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison for financial matters with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Finance Director to develop and execute financial strategies that support the company's overall goals.
  • Corporation Tax: manage group tax compliance

Qualifications

  • Education: qualified accountant

  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience, including previous roles as an Interim Financial Controller or similar senior finance position.

  • Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., ERP systems, Excel).

  • Thorough understanding of GAAP/IFRS and financial regulations.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, strategic thinker, and proactive leader with a hands-on approach.

This role is offered on a hybrid working basis (2/3) and sits inside IR35.
