Berry Smith Lawyers require a marketing assistant who will work closely with the Marketing Manager to develop and implement marketing plans and strategy. The role will cover most aspects of the marketing function and provide support, when required, for business development activities within the business.

Job Description

In this role, you will support the Marketing Manager to implement an agreed plan for the business as a whole and the seven individual departments.

We are seeking a keen and enthusiastic person with a background in Marketing, including a degree level qualification. Some post educational experience within a Marketing department would be ideal.

Main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Maintaining and developing the Berry Smith website, ensuring SEO optimisation

  • Help maintain databases

  • Producing regular email newsletters in conjunction with the Marketing Manager

  • Posting regular social media content

  • Supporting with data administration, reporting and analysis

  • Ad-hoc marketing activities

  • Business Development supportfor fee earning departments

  • Develop diary / programme of business development events

  • Support departments with agreed BD activities

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field
  • Previous experience of working in marketing in professional services
  • Organised approach with good attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
  • A willingness to learn new skills / tools.

Technical Skills:

Some of these will be required immediately but many, which are specific to tools used in this role, will be learned over time with the training provided.

  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Maintaining a marketing database
  • Previous experience of using a CRM system
  • Managing the web site (WordPress & Hubspot)
  • Email / newsletter distribution (247emaildata)
  • Social Media (LinkedIn & X- formerly Twitter)
  • Analytics tools (for Google and LinkedIn)
  • Zoom & Microsoft Teams
