About the Role

As a Reporting Analyst for the SEND system Implementation, you will play a crucial role in ensuring strategic and operational managers and practitioners have the necessary data and information to inform decisions and effective ways of working. You will analyse existing reports and assess against new business processes and system processes, to design and build reporting solutions. You will look for opportunities for improvement, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable solutions.

What is the day-to-day of the role:

  • Investigate, analyse, and document existing business processes to provide valuable insights.
  • An important part of the role will be developing SQL reporting so previous experience is essential.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency and transformation through process review and collaboration with subject matter experts.
  • Design sustainable improved reporting solutions. Work with ICT and BI colleagues to ensure designed solutions meet with business requirements and can be maintained long term.
  • Produce documentation, including technical requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with business areas to ensure specifications and reporting products meet customer needs and statutory requirements.
  • Facilitate the safe handover of reporting solutions to delivery teams for implementation and maintenance.
  • Enhance data provision and insights to support future business intelligence and continuous improvement efforts.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree level education.
  • SQL report writing experience is essential.
  • Experience in data analysis and visualisation tools (ideally PowerBI).
  • Experience working with synergy would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge/experience of Special Education Needs and Disabilities or Children's Services data would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of data in local authority context.
  • Experience in Business Analysis.
  • Proficiency in mapping business processes using tools like Miro and Microsoft Visio.
  • Experience in business process improvement, including benefits assessment and measurement.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
  • Independent worker and effective team player.
  • Active listener with attention to detail.
  • Mentoring and knowledge-sharing capabilities.
  • ICT skills with understanding of requirements documentation.
  • Negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strategic focus aligned with organisational goals.
