JOB- Engineering Manager
LOCATION- Coventry
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- £45,000 – £55,000, dependant on experience
My client design and manufactures a range of bespoke commercial rooms for a variety of clients. They are looking to take on a Engineering Manager, on a permanent basis, in Coventry.
The Engineering Manager will ideally have the following attributes:
- BSc / BEng in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- 3 or more years of experience managing an Engineering team
- Hands-on background working in a Mechanical Design role / on a shop floor environment
- Proven ability to delegate tasks and effectively manage responsibilities
- Design experience in Retail / Commercial / Building Services or similar environments
- Good mathematical and general engineering knowledge
- Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – sheet metal, castings, machining etc.
- Experience with 3D CAD Packages, Inventor is desired
- Ability to drive Engineering development
- The ability to understand system requirements
- Be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
- Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
The Engineering Manager role will involve:
- Managing the Engineering team of a mid-size, family-owned company
- Being involved with Engineering/Design as well as overseeing BOM creation, New Product Development and Process Development
- Effectively delegating tasks, motivating the team, organising processes and overseeing all manufacturing
- Helping to develop existing products on a technical level
- Liaising with customers as required keeping them up to date with project progress
- Producing technical drawings as needed
- Offering technical support
- Sourcing and selecting components that are required
- Working in a small, multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
