We are looking for a Structural Engineer to join our dynamic and growing clients team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for design work from conception to technical approval/completion on projects valued between £0.5m and £20m. This role offers the opportunity for further progression and is ideally suited for someone with excellent communication skills and a minimum of 8 years of structural design experience.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Manage design quality and profitable delivery of projects.
  • Prepare fee proposals for Director authorisation.
  • Deliver scheme designs and detailed design including full tender and construction packages.
  • Liaise with statutory authorities, architects, the design team, and contractors.
  • Attend client, design, and site meetings, conduct site inspections and reporting.
  • Manage resources and oversee engineers & technicians.
  • Support the Managing Director with team targets and contribute towards producing bids and tenders.
  • Conduct structural surveys, analyse and report on structural defects, and provide remediation if required.
  • Oversee engineering design and ensure compliance with the CDM regulations 2015.
  • Mentor and develop team members.
  • Prepare detailed design calculations to British Standards, Eurocodes and relevant design guidance notes.
  • Provide day-to-day support to colleagues from other disciplines within the office.
  • Engage in other business development activities such as identifying opportunities and networking.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • BEng or MEng in Structural Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Chartered Membership or Associate Membership of the ICE or IStructE.
  • Extensive experience in building structures.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, analytical, technical design, and drawing skills.
  • A self-motivated team player with experience in managing and mentoring a team.
  • Ability to manage and resource the Structural Team, including staff appraisals, training, and development.
