Robert Half is partnered with a global wealth management firm and is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated application support engineer on an initial 3-month contract basis within their central London-based offices.
Role:
The Applications Support Engineer will be responsible for providing BAU support to a range of front and back office applications, working on a variety of planned and ad hoc projects, assisting with change and release management, and working with development teams to resolve on-going issues.
- MySQL and T-SQL Database support and maintenance.
- 3rd line technical support and maintenance of in-house and out-of-box applications.
- Improve and support integration between the various applications.
- Improve and support the business workflows within the applications.
- Monitor and support batch system jobs.
- Out-of-hours support to monitor batch jobs and system alerts.
Profile:
The Application Support Engineer should have the following experience and skillset:
- Exposure to working in both windows and linux environments
- Experience working within financial services
- PHP 5 OOP
- MySQL 5
- HTML 5 & CSS
- Centos/Redhat
- Windows Server 2016/2019.
- Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2019
- Powershell
- FIX messaging for trading applications.
- Shell scripting with bash.
- Knowledge and practical experience of application security best practices.
