A well-established furniture and interiors company that supplies to high profile clients, is seeking a personable, organised, and motivated Dispatch and Returns Supervisor to join their growing team. This role is vital in ensuring smooth and efficient operations within the loading bay, contributing to excellent customer service and team management. This is a great opportunity to lead from the front and inspire a dedicated team - and is ideal for someone with experience of working within a team leader or supervisor role with dispatch, hospitality, operations, or retail.

About the Role:

You will play a crucial role in supporting the Loading Bay Manager by overseeing the workflow and maintaining an efficient and effective team. This hands-on position requires involvement in all areas of the loading bay, including dispatch, logistics, returns, and quality control. The supervisor will be the go-to person for any queries, ensuring the team meets daily operational demands and collection schedules. A natural leader, you will motivate your team with enthusiasm and lead by example, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise workflow and manage staffing levels in packing, dispatch, and returns departments.
  • Work with the Loading Bay Manager to create collection time schedules and prioritise workloads accordingly.
  • Collaborate with the Loading Bay Manager to ensure smooth operations, addressing any issues and providing feedback.
  • Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed, regularly inspecting the work area, facilities, and equipment.
  • Support, coach, and motivate the loading bay team, assisting with training and ensuring adherence to company procedures.
  • Maintain and role-model the company brand, communication, and customer service guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience leading and motivating a diverse team.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to effectively liaise with clients, drivers, and co-workers.
  • Proven experience in dispatch or logistics ideal, with the physical ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Highly organised with the ability to maintain a calm, professional, and positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dynamic and adaptable, able to respond to changing deadlines and resolve issues.
  • High attention to detail, critical thinking, decisiveness, safety awareness, and prioritisation skills.
  • A brand ambassador who consistently upholds customer service standards.
  • Proficient in computing, language, and numeracy.
